Paul Cerame Ford, Saint Louis’ best Ford dealer, recently learned that Ford Motor Company has released fuel economy ratings for the upcoming hot-hatch, the Fiesta ST. The next great sport compact will get 26 mpg in the city, 35 mpg highway, with a combined 29 mpg overall. This fuel efficiency comes courtesy of a new 1.6 liter Ecoboost motor that provides 197 horsepower and 202 lb ft of torque, all in a lightweight platform.
While the Fiesta fall a little short to the Fiat 500 Abarth, its main competitor, in overall fuel economy, it makes up for it in other areas. First, the Abarth only has 160 horsepower and 170 lb ft of torque, 27 horsepower and 32 lb ft less, respectively. Second, the Fiesta has 15 cubic feet of storage space, while the Fiat gives you significantly less at 9.5 cubic feet.
While the EPA has yet to officially rated this info, Ford has submitted the data and expects their numbers to reflect the EPA’s. The Fiesta ST will be arriving at Florissant’s favorite Ford dealer, Paul Cerame Ford, in the next few months. Here at St. Louis Best Ford dealer we were thrilled to see the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrations latest Vehicle Safety Ratings. The all new 2013 Ford Fusion Energi has taken the top Safety Rating of 5 Stars in overall vehicle score. The five-star rating is the U.S. Government’s highest-possible safety rating and is determined only after severe testing procedures as part of NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), which combines vehicle performance in frontal and side-impact crash tests and resistance to rollover.
In addition, the Fusion was also named a Top Safety Pick + by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the highest recommendation the organization has for vehicle safety. All this and it also achieves EPA-rated fuel economy of 100 MPGe combined, including 108 MPGe city/92 MPGe highway, which is 5 MPGe than the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid.
